Hey Dad... Stop Touching Me
This week channel Nine's pinnacle of journalism excellence (A Current Affair) showed just why it is the pinnacle of journalism excellence by "uncovering" news that things weren't as they allegedly seemed on the set of Australia's favorite nineties sit-come Hey Dad.
Child actor Sarah Monahan has confided to A Current Affair (and Womens Weekly) the pain of her ongoing ordeal of being molested by her then on-screen dad Robert Hughs. Sarah also stated she was not Hughes's only victem (poor Nudge?) and that the molestation went on the whole period the show was on air.
Whether Hughes is guilty or not guilty of these allegations is not the point (hes obviously guilty just look at those child predator glasses, the way the screen goes distorted when his face appears, and the way he smiles in slow motion like a sexual deviate in A Current Affair's Story?). No, the point to all this drama is as we journey deep into the 21st century, we as a society need to begin questioning the relevance of the police and court system. Why do we need them when wonder show A Current Affair is there to not only investigate these horrid crimes, but also offer financial compensation to the victims? Monahan obviously has no faith in the police service as she never even called them?
That being said maybe the police need to brainstorm because they appear to be heading the same way as the post office (remember them?) its time for police to workout where they fit into our society, as fighting crime doesnt appear to be their forte any longer.
on a lighter note id like to welcome Matty Johns back to television with the premier of his new show on channel Seven tonight
