Bam Margera ODs - Oppurtunity Kocks?
TMZ are reporting that Jackass Bam Margera has suffered a suspected overdose. Only early days yet so not to much information. Will this be a good career move? to soon to say, though my guess is, it will. Pretty safe bet i think, drugs have always been a pretty cool thing to align ur image with.
Anyways, Im just curious what he would of OD on? If u were working in the PR firm representing Bam what would you have him OD on? what drug controversy would best aid, maintain and compliment Bam's brand/image do u think?

Heroin?
I think although heroin embodies rock n roll and hedonistic traits which Bam represents, a heroin OD might risk alienating the teen market that currently pays his bills. Might be useful when he is over the hill and not as marketable anymore with some kind of "rock-bottom-2-come-back" style gimmick. This one tends to favour musicians (see Anthony Kiedis, Pete Doherty, Eric Clapton, Russel Brand).

Weed?
Seems like an obvious choice sure. Though apart from the fact you cant overdose on weed (as far as i know) I think it is to late a stage of Bam's career for any weed related controversy. A Prince Harry style weed episode would of been perfect back when he first started finding his fame, I dont think anyone would really blink a eyelid today though. Weed seems more appropriate choice for athletes/peoples held in high esteem for that "he shouldnt do that but at least hes human like us" kind of publicity. (see Michael Phelps, Bill Clinton, Prince Harry, Peter Garrett).

Coke?
Probably the best bet. To date Bam's appeal as far as i can tell has been his "average reckless kid to riches via skateboarding" story which people can identify with and live vicariously through as he flys jets, and drive ferarris around the world. Cocaine seems an extension of this hollywood lifestyle in which most fans would accept and want to be a part of i think. (see Kate Moss, Richard Pryor)

Prescription Cocktail?
Very popular. This is always a good one because you receive more sympathy from the wider audience. As your dealer is instead the doctor/doctors there is less responsibility placed on you for your problem. Due to the "legal" nature of this one it can be hard to gain any impact unless you actually die or something. (see Heath Ledger, Elvis, Michael Jackson).
Have I left any out?

The Circle of Life
The main thing I learnt this week is that music goes to Coles Supermarkets to die. After long journeys through space and time, dancing a beautiful dance with peoples emotions, impacting on many lives, helping shape society, opinion and character, it seems music’s twilight years before death are spent at Coles. With this in mind Coles has become a kind of holy place for me. Walking the aisles I can’t help but be over come with strange feelings I don’t quite understand. I feel happy for all the time I’ve had in my life to spend with “Dancing Queen” and “Born to be Wild” but then I feel saddened to think these songs don’t have much time left. You don’t know what you got till its gone hey.
I started to feel angry and confused and I needed some clarity, so I went and I spoke to my spiritual guide/drug dealer. He said to me “yo, you just need to be reminded of the circle of life and that will give you perspective man”. Circle of life? This was an entirely new concept to me, it goes like this... apparently when the music is dying at Coles small children are listening and some are inspired to go on and make even better music! It soothed my pain a little to think Annie Lennox may have been inspired to write master piece “Sex Crime 1984” after hearing like the Bee Gees or something in a supermarket.
So now when I’m walking down the Coles aisle I am not overcome with anxiety of any kind any more. Rather then feeling the agonising pain of loss I now feel a kind of joy. I feel at peace with the earth. Today as I tapped my foot to “Groove is in the Heart” a small child looked up at me, I looked back at the small child and smiled. A truly special moment where I realised life is truly special. Cherish it.
